How can I prevent my baby from getting norovirus?
I appear to have engaged a norovirus as well as have had distressing disease for a past 3 days. we am a unapproachable mommy to a 9 week aged baby lady who is particularly breastfed. we have been flattering great about soaking my hands as well as splotch surfaces around a house. How can we forestall her from removing this pathogen if she requires such tighten attention? What do we do if she does get a virus?
one of the great things about a baby being breastfed is your body produces the healthy cells to fight a virus… so even if you have the virus, since your body is fighting it off, your baby is going to get that into her system, and most likely wont get the virus, the immunity that your body is creating transfers into your breastmilk!!.. now i would continue to be on the safe side and sanitize everything, wash clothes in hot water to kill germs, lysol can be sprayed across soft surfaces, so at night id spray a little on surfaces you touch, and maybe your sofa also. and wash your hands often!! especially before picking her up to feed her.. just in case she would try to put your finger in her mouth. i think you doing everything right though. God Bless.

LikeDislikeNorovirus is also called gasteroenterist. Just wash services and your hands, that’s all you can really do for now. You can keep breastfeeding as long as you aren’t taking any meds for the diareaha or nasea. If you are of course I know you’ll ask what’s safe and not. If she does get it call her doctor and ask wether to take her in or not. Keep breastfeeding her, if she starts to vomit as that can be a symptom due to the nasea, pedialyte and watered down gadorade will be best for her.
Hope you get well soon.

LikeDislikeFirst stop worrying, she has all your immunities still residing in her body. Keep doing what you are doing and she will be fine. If she does become sick just let her Ped know and he will guide you. Babies and children will get sick and that is ok, they need to build up their own immune systems. Relax and enjoy her, you have years of sickness and tummy aches, and ear aches and running noses and chicken pox and….
