I only ran a defragmenter. Will we erase all files if we delete? The Options Box says:
Get your questions answered at How To.com.my“The files in your form which store these console changes have been regulating a following volume of hoop space upon this computer”:
48.47 KB
To henceforth undo these files, click undo files.
Will deletion these files speed my complement up? Thanks
Dont ask me Im a gorilla.
Shouldnt have any problems if you confirm to delete these files.
Sadly by deleting those files it will not speed your system up. It will just free up disk space.
Although the defragging theoretically speeds up ones computer from my experience i don’t notice much gain.
I think the best way to see speed improvements is to reduce the amount of running programs from your windows startup (the ones you hardly use). To do this, go to the RUN window (Windows-Key + R) and type “msconfig”…The click the “Startup” tab and turn off any of the starting programs that you dont use (or dont know about). Then click “OK” and have it restart your computer.
You can also check out BootVis (from Microsoft) which analyses your computer and modifies the boot process to speed bootup time. Here is a link to a description and download (its a bit nerdy in its speak so if you’re not comfortable with that then maybe avoid it):
IT finds and deleted files that have not been accessed in the a while…. You can view a list of them in disk cleanup…. Normally it’s old temp files….
IT does save disk space, but will not speed things up….
Try a disk defragmentor…….
start, programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragmentor…
When you deg fragment it actually sorts yous system out and organizes it it maximizes it for optimum perfomance. That out of space that they are talking about to delete is so minute it takes 1000 kb to get a megabyte in so that icon or what ever the computer has found takes up less than 1 meg so deleting it will not making your computer faster .
no problem in deleting those file
will not increase your speed
Disk Cleanup is Different than Disk Defragmentor
Disk Cleanup will look for files that you do not use often and will ask you if you want to delete them permanently.. and yes permanently means gone forever… and only you can know if the file is something you will need later.. if you do not know don’t delete it.
If you do not know how to use these tools have a qualified tech show you.
Good luck.
depends on your hard drive size .. but if they only take up that small amount, not a lot of difference .. in Disk Cleanup only tick
Recycle, downloaded program files,Temporary Internet files, temporary files, web client pub files, compress old files, catalog files
you wont have all these listed but don’t delete any others and uncheck their boxes .. then defrag
there are a few steps to permanently taking things off your drive. The first is to use the programs uninstall if it has one. If not you can use the control panels ADD/REMOVE ability. Or..if your just deleting random things..they are in your recycle bin….Once you uninstall a program, the computer removes the flags that tell the disk to keep it on the drive…it’s still in there waiting to be removed and for-mated over. If you empty your recycle bin, same thing, it’s still there waiting to be removed, but you’ll have a hard time getting to it. Now once you run disk defrag, the computer will remove the program and refile your systems files bit by ever loving bit. After allll this is done. In order to completely remove the footprint of the item you removed…you have to find all the footprint Left in your registry pertaining to that file or program. For example…If you run REGEDIT32 in windows, then hold down CNTRL+F and type in the item you want to find it will hunt it down…delete it from this spot…and the file or program is gone from your computer. Not even the secret service will know it was there. now of course there are programs that will take all these steps for you…hehe.
Disk defraging DOES increase computer performance as a whole and should be done on average every month, depending on how you use your computer. For example if you jsut use one or two programs, I wouldn’t worry about it. However if your an internet junky and visit 4 billion differant sites in three days, defraging per week is good for you. What it basically does, is take your most used programs and puts them at the front of the disk and your least used get pushed back, while doing this it takes all programs and things and orders them. Kinda like takeing nails out of a box and makeing them all line up perfectly according to brand, shape, and color. This increases your hard drive’s performance only because it helps it fetch the program faster, and allows it to read it better, since it tends to jsut write information wherever the heck it feels like it 8).
OK those files that it asks to delete that you are asking about are CONSOLE files ie they are files that are saved to display the defrag console. They are actually only used by the MMC and deleting them has no impact on your system at all.
