I think Pope John Paul was one of the greatest men of the 20th century.

It is about 90 years too early to judge about the 21st century.
He died in 2005 and only lived about 4 years in the young 21st century.

I assume you mean the 20th century. . . . Lot of good company there.

The one sticking point I have with John Paul II (and I am Catholic, BTW), is the picture I saw of him kissing a Koran at some meeting with Muslim leaders. I think he had some explaining to do with the Man upstairs about this lapse in judgement or abysmal ignorance, or whatever it was.

AH yeah many actually. Plus the 21st Century JUST STARTED so it is a bit too soon to say who the greatest man or woman to live in this century is until it is over.

That is just my opinion.

Sure he was a great man, but to say the greatest so soon into the new century I think is a bit premature.

I won’t even mention any other names because we still have another 92 years approximately to decide that answer and I doubt I will still be here to see the result =]

I can think of many greater men. But then again, i’m not a catholic.
