   Absolutely. If you are building a from the ground up you will only be able to have estimates based on similar buildings. If you are renovating you will be able to accurately compare what you save with historical usage.

   I’ve made many changes and I’m saving a lot of money. I am working with a green renovation company and all of the upgrades they suggest come with estimated payback timeframes. Most are only a few years. The cost of energy is only going to increase, so the sooner you make energy saving changes the longer you will reap the benifits.

   defnitely but it would take far longer than conventional buildings. A savings of a few dollars in eletricity or heating, over a long time may end up saving money. The initial investment is largely the problem, most people looking to save money cant afford to build a “green” home or building.
