My usually complaint is we have UGLY SAT scores (1440/2400)

What have been my chances with a college with a great reputation?
yeah, there are some good colleges that doesn’t require the SAT, like Bates College or Wake Forest
oh course you can. with all those activities and your GPA you can get into most State universities.
ps. thats what i got on my psat. its ok.

Take your SAT’s again and use one of the SAT prep books. I took my SATs 3 times. I think that you could get into a ‘nice’ school depending on your definition, but it will be more difficult. My SATs were not stellar (most of the people at my school had higher scores), but I had a lot of things that made me stand out such as government internships and the girl scout gold award (highest in girl scouting). What you need are good essays and something to make you stand out from the crowd. Good luck.
if i got into UC san diego with high SATs and a crap GPA i would HAVE to say if will work the other way.
The essay portion is what makes or break people with high SATs/low GPA or high GPA/low SATs
a kickass personal statement can go a long way. i had shit sat and act scores (took both 3 times, no improvement) but had a good gpa and a real original personal statement. got into every place i applied. good luck
