How to hook up microphone to the speakers?

I have a 2.1 altec lansing speakers. we wish to insert a microphone to it so it can amp what ever i contend to a mic, how can i do this?

A mic cannot normally be attatched directly to a speaker. You need a way to amplify the signal. the amplifiere goes between the mic and the speaker. With the exception of bullhorns used at crowds, which have a mic and speaker in one unit.
