How should I gain a closer relationship to God, and have a personal relationship with him?
I wish to know how to get to know Him as well as adore him so which He will regularly be in my life? we am fourteen as well as we would similar to to know what would be a most appropriate way.
I will be praying for you! There are a few things that are super important to help you grow. Trust me, it's very hard to have a close relationship with Him without them!
1) Read the bible every day. Even if you can only read a paragraph a day, do so. I would start with the New Testament. It doesn't matter how quickly you get through the bible or how much you read at one time, but that you really pour over the words and ask God to speak to you through what you read. Having a study bible with commentary on the bottom helps too. Try not to ever miss a day, no matter what, because once you miss one time it becomes much harder not to miss again.
2) Pray as often as possible. God loves to hear from you and could sit and listen to you all day! He is fascinated by you. You know when you love a boy and all you can do all day is think about him and you sit and wait for him to call you. You could talk to him forever! You could just sit and look at him for hours! That's how God is with you! Even moreso! Tell Him every day that you love Him. It makes a huge difference!
3) Be aware of His presence. God is with you every moment of every day! Just try as often as possible to acknowledge his presence. Imagine that you were with a friend of yours all the time and they completely ignored you and forgot that you were even with them. Imagine your friend just making eye contact with you every once in a while to let you know they haven't forgotten that you are there. Try to "make eye-contact" with God (not literally, of course) as often as possible, just letting God know that you are aware He is with you.
4) Have someone disciple you. Meet once a week with someone you respect as a Christian and be open and honest with them. Let them help you and pass on their wisdom and help keep you accountable.
5) Try every day to grow closer to God. Either you grow closer or you fall further apart, you never stay the same.
6) Most importantly, give up your will to God's. Commit yourself to the plan God has for your life and dedicate yourself to following it. Whatever He asks of you, you'll do. It's like you are giving him a blank check, saying "whatever you want me to do, I'll do!" I can't tell you how big of a difference this will make in your life.
Good luck to you! I'm praying for you!
